Pomak people who live in Europe met in Belgium and joined in May
Day celebrations.
After some long, arduous years Pomak people, who launched a strong self-organisational campaign and activities in Turkey extended their activities to Europe. May the 1st has become a memorable day for Pomaks of
Europe, when they met in Belgium and joined in May Day celebrations under the banner of the Democratic Pomak Movement.
The anathemas of the Pomak people were: Neshteme Asimilatsiya (We
say No to Assimilation) and Da jiveya vsichki Pomashki Hora (Long Live All Pomak People)
Pomak contingency, which enjoyed
the prestigious location of being the leading group of the May Day march was
met with interest, and a number of journalists, citizens of Liege approached, asked questions and expressed their good will. Throughout the march people of Liege, Belgium took pictures of the Pomak contingency.
