--- Quote from: Skudrinec_USA on May 29, 2009, 08:00 ---Salam Alaikum,
I am pomak from Macedonia area and born in the USA. There are no pomak associations here in our town here in CT. Many associate in the mosque mostly here shared by many different ethnic groups. Pomak tradition I believe still exists here in our town can be because most visit Macedonia annually. There are many pomaks in New York city about 200 families, Iowa , and Florida also from our area in Macedonia. As long as we love our faith here in the US our traditions and cultural heritage will always exist in the USA. Great information here! Much to learn and read. Salam to all

Hello. This is mesage to pomaks people in USA. Last week too many pomaks here in USA call me for that wath online s.Tuhovishta and Kasapov famyli spesial for that, and friends here long time togo like wath. For that we have new friends pomaks and members www.pomak.eu. You can now enjoy online the village festival honouring the benefactor Mehmed Kasapov who lives in America since 1972. His donation for the football team and renovation of the village square brought a lot of smiles on our children`s and grandparents` faces.
I would like to thank Erol for his work and to abc for helping with the uploading of the clips online.
It is a honour to see pomaks like Mr. Kasapov donating and helping their communities and leaving a trail for the future generations.
Enjoy the real life stories in the movies - there was happiness and tears of joy.
Over 2000 guests from Turkey (Manisa, Chanac kale), Sofia and Kazanlyk attended the festival, the organising of which has been made possibe by the donation of Mr. Kasapov. In the video you can also see a lot of the people writing in this forum: Erol, Zyulkera etc.
A big "Thank you" to family Kasapovi!

When this project was first born, my father kept me updated through the visual effects of pictures.
Yesterday, when I came here for the first time, those pictures I've been seeing this past year all came to life. And as I stand here today, I can't help the but feel a gentle warmth in which those pictures just can not describe.
I look around and I see a village full of people who care about their community and the people within it. This is a quality so unique because I just don't see it very often.
Growing up, my father talked a lot about his mom, my grandmother, and yesterday I had the chance to hear many stories about her from others, how loving and special she was.
Fortunatly, because I didn't meet my grandma, this site is special to me because it gives me the opportunity to know her through the stories people told me of her while she was alive.
I wanna thanks all of you for giving me that opportunity to know her through you.
I'd like to leave with a few words that have a special meaning to me, it simply is,add the world that after stories.
"The love and the laughter will live on long after all of the sadness and the tears" Part 2.
Част2 02 Rebecca - In college, a professor of mine stood before my class and read pleace after the word poem, it was about living your dash. Simply said what matters most isn't the date we are born or the date we die, but that little dash in between the dates.
When we pass on, only those who knew us while we were alive will really know just how special that dash really is.
We are here today to celebrate and remember those dash of those who have touched our lives in a special way. Hopefully, this place will be somewhere take out the word where many happy memories are shared.
A place where the dash of those who have gone before us remembered, and a place where we live our own dash. The significance will be felt different by each of us.
I know for me this place is what finally got me to Bulgaria to meet my family after 29 years, and for this I am greatful.
My hope, and my family's hope is that this place will be special for you too.
Thank you again for coming and I hope you all leave here today with many great memories and ready to live your dash to the fullest.
